A message from the CEO

For more than two decades InvestmentNews has been the pioneer and leader in covering the financial services industry. Like many companies in the industry and around the world, we here at InvestmentNews have felt the full impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

On both personal and professional levels, our team has adapted to the new world of virtual communications and working from home, and is now utilizing technologies that make it possible to continue providing relevant news and content for the financial advice community that relies on us.

We appreciate the way an unprecedented global pandemic, which continues to pose an uncertain future for us all, can lead people to reevaluate priorities, but we hope you know our business model and content strategy has not missed a beat during these trying times and we remained true to our purpose as the industry leader.

InvestmentNews has accelerated our investment in both technology and platform upgrades that began prior to the COVID-19 outbreak, and our audience can now engage with our content through our newly redesigned website, digital editions, virtual events, webcasts, video, white papers, research portal and social media.

This strategy of always striving to stay ahead of the competition enabled us to quickly pivot and adjust to new ways of covering the industry, while continuing to report news the way we always have.

For our digital edition, instead of just relying on a static PDF file, we are using a robust technology platform that is interactive, easy to use and includes videos, podcasts, proprietary research, in-depth analysis and breaking news.

As the global financial markets react to the fallout from the pandemic, rest assured that our reporters and editors will continue leading the way by providing context for your businesses around the news and events impacting all of us.

In addition to a comprehensive package in the early stages of the outbreak on how COVID-19 is creating a new normal for the industry, we are staying on top of all the regulatory, investing, practice management and retirement angles related to how this pandemic is impacting our businesses and our lives.

Understanding the new challenges and urgency facing our audience, we are carving out new ways of bringing content to you.

For example, we recently started producing short video features where reporters and editors ask high-profile industry experts three relevant questions that can be easily digested by our audience on our website or through various social media.

The “Three Questions” segment has emerged as a popular and informative feature that fits in nicely with our growing video footprint, which we will continue to develop and expand.

While in-person conferences and workshops remain on hold until we have more guidance on social distancing and requirements from our venues, we are pushing forward with virtual events.  Last week, we hosted our Women Adviser Summit and had more attendees online than we’ve ever had in person! For an updated list of all of events, please visit www.investmentnews.com.

During these extremely challenging and uncertain times, we are still committed to you, our audience, and to being the industry’s leading and most trusted source of news and information for financial services.

Thank you for staying loyal to us and for working with our team of journalists to help us continue providing the content that is most important to you, your business and the industry overall.

We hope you and your families can stay safe and healthy — we look forward to seeing you in person when the time is right.

With gratitude and appreciation,

Christine Shaw
